Description
Renovation of Historic Buildings Solicitation No. RFQ-2004-023 REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS The Presidio Trust, a Federal government corporation, is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from construction firms to perform rehabilitation work on historic and non-historic buildings at the Presidio of San Francisco. The Presidio is a National Park and a National Historic Landmark. The Trust is seeking qualified general contractors for a wide variety of projects at the Presidio. Work may include but is not be limited to: rehabilitation of both Historic and Nonhistoric residential and commercial buildings and portions thereof (both interior and exterior), tenant improvement work, new construction, and some work with improvements in the National Park other than buildings. Building types will include wood frame, cast-in-place concrete, and block and brick masonry. Crews will be expected to work closely with Trust trades people and other contractors. The majority of the projects offered for bid to range from $10,000 to $250,000 (total cost); however firms included on the Qualified Vendor List may be considered for projects up to $1,000,000. Davis Bacon Act, prevailing wage rates, applies to Trust procurement(s). Minimum requirements include State of California Contractor?s License; 5 years experience performing tenant improvement and historic building rehabilitation work; bonding capacity; and certificate of insurance identifying extent and form of general liability, automobile liability and workers? compensation insurance coverage. Through this RFQ process, the Trust will pre-qualify ten or more construction firms. Submittals will be evaluated based upon criteria set forth in the Request for Qualifications (RFQ), including but not limited to: (a) specialized experience in performing rehabilitation work on historic buildings; (b) demonstrated ability; and (c) record of past performance including references. Telephone requests will not be accepted. RFQ should be available approximately May 3, 2004. DATES ARE TENTATIVE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Qualified small businesses including small disadvantaged businesses, minority-owned and women-owned small businesses are encouraged to respond. The Trust strongly encourages prime contractors to utilize small businesses, HUBZone SBCs, SDBs, and women-owned small businesses to the fullest extent consistent with efficient contract performance. The NAICS code for this procurement is 235510 (Small Business is $28 million or under). The Presidio Trust is a wholly owned federal government corporation and is not subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
