- The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command is seeking sources and requests information related to an erosion coating that can be sustained on axial compressor blades and the centrifugal impeller on the T-55 engine. The erosion coating must be able t o endure the 19,361 RPMs that the compressor section rotates. All interested business sources must provide enough information that make them viable candidates by providing the result of fatigue testing and erosion coating testing on the T-55 Engine axial compressor blades and centrifugal impeller, or other similar material used in an engine type application. The axial blades are made of AM350 and the impeller is made of Ti6242 or Ti6246. All interested business sources that apply must have knowledge of t hese materials with their coatings. Interested business sources that can provide the requirements in accordance with the description above are invited to submit information to include, a brief description of their company history, corporate capability wit h data to substantiate qualifications, a list of examples demonstrating market competence, rough order magnitude (ROM) cost and availability data, manufacturing and delivery capabilities, and/or other market related information. Data provided to substanti ate qualifications should include information on current products meeting the characteristics stated in this announcement and availability of products to meet this requirement. Please include the name, telephone number, and email address of a corporate po int of contact. Firms responding to this synopsis should state if they are a large, small, or small disadvantaged business. Request this information be submitted no later than May 3, 2004. Please stipulate the period for which the data will remain valid . A minimum validity period of twelve (12) months is required.
