- THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The Alaska District Corps of Engineers is contemplating a competitive 8(a) action for firms serviced by the Small Business Administration, Alaska District Office, or by firms who can demonstr ate a bona fide place of business within the state of Alaska for future requirements to provide all material, labor, equipment, and supervision necessary to repair and/or upgrade approximately 8,000 feet of utilidor systems at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Repa irs include complete replacement of sewer, water, steam and steam condensate lines within existing utilidor structures on Oak Avenue, Montgomery Avenue and Neely Road, including service to buildings on Neely Road. Work will also include construction of ap proximately 2,100 feet of new utilidor and sewer, water, steam and steam condensate lines, enlargement of some existing manholes and asbestos abatement. The bid schedule will include additional work as option items; however, there is no guarantee the optio ns will be exercised. The estimated dollar magnitude of this project is anticipated between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. The performance period will be approximately 600 calendar days. Bid, payment, and performance bonds shall be required. The NAICS C ode applicable to this project is 237990. The small business size standard for this NAICS Code is $28,500,000. The government anticipates the issuance of a Request For Proposal (RFP) on or about July 5, 2004. The anticipated award date is August 27, 2004 subject to the availability of funds. Interested firms shall submit, as a minimum, the following information: (a) a copy of the certificate issued by the SBA of your qualifications as a participant in the 8(a) program, (b) a positive statement of your intention to submit an offer for any solicitation issued for this future requirement as a prime contractor, (c) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, point of contact and telephone numbers, a nd dollar amounts, (d) evidence of bonding capability to the maximum magnitude of the project. Failure to submit all information requested will result in non-consideration for this requirement. All information is to be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested 8(a) concerns.
