- Description
- Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Makah Tribe for the office of National Marine Fisheries Service located in Seattle, WA. Purpose of proposed contract is for services to provide estimates for the encounter rates of sub-legal Chinook Salmon and non-target Salmon in Washington Treaty and non-Treaty troll fisheries using observer and log book programs. This study is designed to address some of the data needs of the Chinook Technical Committee that will enable more accurate modeling of the impacts of the Washington troll fishery on ESA-listed Columbia River and Puget Sound Chinook stocks. Period of performance is from June 1, 2004 thru April 30, 2005. Makah Tribe has been identified as the only source that can complete the work under the proposed contract due to combination of their management authority, work experience, familiarity with its conduct and interaction with Treaty troll fishery and tribal fishermen. This notice may represent the only official notice.
