Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Military Sealift Command?s (MSC) request services to perform the following work required. (SEE STATEMENT OF WORK). This requirement is totally set-aside to small business. Only written (fax or email) proposals will be accepted. Proposal must be received no later than 11:00 AM, 12 April 2004. Provide services of a qualified government agency representative to perform the following work: Provide the necessary Engineering, Service Engineers, tools, and materials to disassemble and refurbish the four Steering Gear Ram Cylinders to factory specifications in accordance with Tech Manual 0922-LP-003-4010. Machine cylinders in place if possible. Replace four bronze bushings and polish rams. Reassemble; install new packing and flush system with clean oil to ensure entire system is clean of all foreign matter in accordance with Tech Manual 0922-LP-003-4010. Perform operational test during sea trials in accordance with Tech Manual 0922-LP-003-4010. II. Required Documents: 1) Report (original and one copy). After completion of services, contractor shall provide the MSC Representative with a comprehensive report denoting the services provided. Leave original with vessel?s ChEng. Provide proof of insurance via ?Certificate of Insurance? if awarded the work. Submit proof of insurance, along with those other forms to the port engineer or other designated POC by email, fax or letter carrier. The minimum amount of coverage to ensure compliance with most local facilities, shipyards, ports, etc., is expected to be: i) General Liability & Excess Liability - $5,000,000 ii) USL&H (Workman?s Comp.) - $1,000,000 In some cases, the AWARDEE may be required to specify a shipyard, drydock facility, country, or other such entity as ?Additional Insured?. Should such be the case, MSC, PAC will provide the name of the company, shipyard, facility, etc. 2. Vessel Availability and Location: For Biddding Purposes, Performance would be OCONUS, 12 July ? 24 August 2004 COUNTRY AND THEATER CLEARANCE INFORMATION: The following information is required no later than 1 June 04.
