Description
Self Defense Armament Subsystem for Utility and Cargo Helicopters. The US Army is interested in acquiring information on non-developmental or commercially available Helicopter mounts for the M240E5 Aviation machine gun and specifically for mounting this weapon on the UH- 60 BLACK HAWK and CH-47 Chinook helicopters. The goal of this survey is to identify weapon mounts that are capable of mounting the M240E5 to the existing M144 Arm on the UH-60 and the M-41/M-24 Arms on the CH-47. The mount must be approximately the same weight as that of the current M60D mount and incorporate a link and case collection system and ammunition can attachment bracket. The mount with weapon, ammunition can and collection bag attached, must transition through the respective window to the stowage position without removal from the appropriate arm. The mount must allow quick interchangeability of weapon, bag and ammunition can. Further, the mount and associated cams and pintles must meet all Field of Fire and reliability criteria requirements set forth in the Operational Requirement Document and the various operational manuals for these aircraft. The mount in conjunction with the weapon system must not produce shock, vibration or frequencies which would be detrimental to the airframe. Interested parties shall submit a description of their mount along with sketches, drawings, specifications (size, weight, materials, etc), brochures, and / or sample hardware (one) to the Commander ARDEC, ATTN: Mr. Charles Pluviose, AMSRD-AAR-AEW (D), bldg 65, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, Mr. Pluviose?s telephone number is 973-724-6071 and his email address is Pluviose@pica.army.mil. Please send notification to the Contract Specialist Carmen Lamberto when the sample has been submitted, email address clambert@pic.army.mil. Submission of samples will confirm the immediate availability of mount hardware. Samples will be returned, upon request, as tested samples (in an as is condition). This is a Market Survey and not a pre- solicitation notice. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. Respondents to this Market Survey should submit data and sample(s) within 30 days from the date of this publication. All information or samples are to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the government.
