Description

The Rock Island Arsenal is seeking sources of supply capable of providing Bituminous Coal as follows: Coal size: 1 ???? inch x ???? inch washed, Moisture, as received 15.0 percent max; Volatile Matter, dry 40.0 percent max, 30.0 percent min; Ash, dr y 10.0 percent max; Sulfur, dry 1.5 percent max; B.T.U., dry 13,000 min; A.S.T. degrees F 2500 min; F.S.I. 3.0 max; Hardgrove Grind 55 max, 40 min; Screen Size 1 ???? inch R.H. Screen 5.0 percent max percent retained on, ???? inch R.H. Screen 10.0 percent max percent passing through. Rock Island Arsenal??????s yearly usage is approximately 28,000 tons. Delivery of coal to Rock Island Arsenal is currently via barge to terminal located in Davenport, Iowa , coal is then trucked to Rock Island Arsenal where t he coal is stockpiled. The coal is used in the boilers at the central heating plant at Rock Island Arsenal, there are two chain grate boilers and two spreader stoker boilers. Two of the boilers are 100,000 PPH boilers, one 125,000 PPH and one 75,000 PPH boiler. The above stated specifications are FOB destination. This announcement is not a Request For Proposal (RFP) and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to award a contract or contracts at this time.
