Description
This announcement is to confirm the Industry conference for a systems procurement of the M67 Fragmentation Grenade. The conference will begin at 9:00 A.M. and last until 5:00 PM CST on April 21, 2004. This announcement is to continue to support Mar ket Research performed by the United States Army and to provide industry additional information relative to the Government's expectations for a systems integrator, for the M67 Fragmentation Grenade for Fiscal Years 2004 through 2008. The M67 systems integ rator will be responsible for proactive management of delivery, quality, and technical issues at the prime and subcontractor levels. The System contractor will establish and maintain management processes to guarantee the required levels of performance, sa fety and reliability are achieved and that the final delivered product is in conformance with the approved configuration and items are delivered in accordance with the contract schedule. The system contractor will be technically and financially capable of supporting the Government in its hand grenade life cycle management needs. This may include design, prototyping and qualification of grenade product improvements, new variants, and/or process and design modernization to improve quality & efficiencies to address obsolescence of parts, materials, & production processes associated with the hand grenade family. The Government will provide the Comp B-4 to the systems contractor as Government furnished material. The estimated quantities are: 2004-284K, 2005-458K, 2006-451K, 2007-486K, 2008-410K. The Governments preference would be to award a requirements contract for FY04 through FY08. Range pricing will be utilized for the basic and out year requirements. This announcement is for INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. This announcement does NOT constitute a Request for Proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announce ment. Requests for solicitation will not receive a response. Technical data packages will be made available at this time for review, NOT for distribution. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to t his announcement and any follow-up information requests. No basis for a claim against the Government shall arise as a result from a response to this announcement or Government use of any information provided. This announcement does not restrict the Gover nment to an ultimate acquisition strategy. The Government reserves the right to consider acquisition strategies as deemed appropriate. Tentative areas for discussion include: Overall program presentation, TDP Information Review, Governments expectations for a systems integrator, Engineering aspects/potential TDP changes. Businesses that desire to attend shall submit (1) Name of Company- include a contact persons name, telephone number and email address. Each firm is limited to only two (2) representatives. Provide specific topics (limit of two (2) to be addressed). Requests must be received by 15 Apr 04.
