Description

Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, WA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Bio-Rad Laboratories for a Reagent Rental Agreement for a hemoglobin testing system for a base and four option years. The contract includes the use of a Variant II Hemoglobin Testing System, installation, service, 24/7 customer support and no shipping charge for delivery of reagents. The following are the salient chrematistics of the Variant II System meeting the Government??????s requirements: Totally automate d; primary tube sampling; multiple tube types accepted; no manual sample preparation; mixing of whole blood tubes; cap piercing; automated repositioning of tube for bar code scanning; continuous sample feeding; bar-coding of sample tubes; calibrators and c ontrols are not counted as injections; STAT capability; bi-directional LIS interface; reagent level sensing; HPLC methodology; NGSP certified materials; A1c ?????? no interference from hemoglobin S and C; beta thalaseemia assay; total GHB assay; ability to identify hemoglobin variants; calibration frequency per cartridge; stored calibration; QC charts; on-board QC management; online manuals; remote monitoring and control of instrument; library of abnormal hemoglobin online; results archived to CD-ROM; abili ty to network with multiple PC??????s; reprint chromatograms; automatic start-up; no tools required for cartridge/column; reagents kit packaged; less than 3%CV; Interferences separated, schiff base, and carbamylation removed. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a r equest for competitive proposals. However, all information received after the publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notic e is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
