Description
This requirement is being procured in accordance with Part 15 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations. The Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue a Request for Proposals to design, manufacture, deliver, and install one replacement runner for an impluse-type hydraulic turbine. Furnish spare parts, templates, plus miscellaneous repair and maintenance parts. Replacement runner will function in an existing horizontal shaft single-runner, single jet, impluse-type hydraulic turbine, driving a 5,400 kVA, 450 rpm, direct coupled, generator. Existing unit is horizontal shaft Pelton Turbine, rated 6,800 horsepower at a net head of 1,400 feet at 450 rpm. Replacement runner to be stainless steel, with hub and impluse buckets cast integrally, and not exceeding 8,000 pounds. Alternate Proposals: The Government will accept alternate proposals to accomplish any aspect of the work statement of this requirement, including the hub and bucket assembly in a manner that it believes would be a beneficial improvement to the Government. Refer to Section L of the Solicitation, clause WBR 1452.215-81 Alt 1, General Proposal Instructions, paragraph (g). A site visit is scheduled for April 20, 2004 at 9 a.m. at the Lower Molina Powerplant. All interested parties are encouraged to attend. See Section L.15 for further information. The work will be performed under NAICS Code 333611. The contract will be a firm fixed price supply and install. The date for solicitation issurance is April 6, 2004.
