Description
SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston intends to award a sole-source contract to ITT Industries, ITT Gilfillan, 7821 Orion Avenue; Van Nuys CA 91406-2085 for one (1) with the option to procure three (3) additional ICAO annex 10 compliant Precision Approach Radars, which specifically pertains to operations at the McMurdo Station, Antarctica aerodrome. The Precision Approach Radar shall survive the harsh environment and USAP operation in Antarctica and be fully integrated with a Government Furnished sled, radome, and operating position subsystem manufactured by ITT Industries, ITT Gilfillan The PAR mounting hardware shall be compatible with the attaching hardware of the GFE sled for transportation when in its operational and storage configurations at the McMurdo Station, Antarctica aerodrome. The PAR when attached to the sled shall be completely enclosed within the GFE radome assembly. The PAR when fully integrated with the GFE equipment shall be designed to withstand shock and vibration forces up to 9 Gs and shall be able to operate and be stored at ambient temperature ranges from minus 55 to plus 55 degrees Celsius. The PAR shall be air cooled and have a mean time between critical failures (MTBCF) of a no less than 4000 hours. The PAR shall have the ability to remotely change the radar coverage for selected runways. The transmit/receive (T/R) modules must be interchangeable between elevation and azimuth antennas. The radar, also, shall have a fully integrated PAR simulator for Controller familiarization. A Firm-Fixed Price Type contract is anticipated. The total estimated value is $8 million. The FSC code is 5820. The North American Classification Industry System Code is 334511. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
