- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Eastern Region is conducting a Market Survey to identify 8(a) certified businesses, currently licensed in the State of virginia, in the business of providing contract security armed guard services for a continuous period of at least the immediate past five (5) years and located within 100 miles of Herndon, Virginia, to meet the agency's requirement to provide Armed Guard Services at the FAA/AT Control System Command Center, Herndon, Virginia. Services are estimated to commence June 1, 2004. There are four (4) one-year option periods beginning October 1, 2004. The contractor shall be required to furnish all labor, equipment (other than government furnished equipment), uniforms, transportation and management necessary to provide three (3) armed guards, seven (7) days per week, twenty-four (24) hours per day. This survey is not a Request for proposal and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. Responses to this survey are voluntary and at the responders expenses; no costs associated with responding to this survey will be reimbursed. To be considered qualified to perform this effort, Socially and Economically Disadvantaged Businesses (SEDB) that are 8(a) certified must clearly demonstrate experience, capability and financial capability. Companies meeting the criteria listed herein are invited to submit a summary of capabilities. The summary must include evidence of expertise, knowledge and skills in the field of Guard Service for a continuous period of the immediate past five (5) years. Interested companies must also include a copy of their 8(a) Certification Letter from SBA, a letter from their financial institute regarding credit worthiness of company and financial caopability and certificate of licensing documentation. Contractors must have an active business address and phone number for a minimum of one (1) year and be within a hundred mile radius of Herndon, Virginia. This Market Survey is being conducted to aid the FAA in identifying prospective companies. All responses must be received no later than Close of Business (4:00 P.M.) on April 16, 2004.
