Description
Planned improvements for Kingsolver Elementary School, Mudge Elementary School, and Pierce Elementary School, Ft. Knox, Kentucky, consist of a 1-story detached classroom ??????pod?????? for each school. Each detached classroom ??????pod?????? is ap proximately 4,030 square feet. The structures will be free-standing and will connect to other structures through canopy covered concrete sidewalks. The mechanical systems (heating and cooling) for the new structures will also be free standing units and w ill not connect to mechanical systems within the existing schools. The structures will be steel frame structures with brick veneer to match the adjacent buildings. The roof deck will be steel. Each structure will house classrooms. Each classroom will h ave access to their own toilets. Shallow concrete soil bearing foundations are planned for each structure. The structures will be slab-on-grade. There are 4 options, defined as Millwork, Plastic Laminate Wall Panels, Millwork and Exterior Electrical. C ompletion time is approximately 300 calendar days. The NAICS is 236220. Solicitation will be issued approximately 3 May 2004 and receipt of bids is approximately 3 June 2004 at 2:00 pm (local time). THIS PROJECT IS HUBZONE SET-ASIDE. This project is ava ilabe on compact disk and web. Project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. The drawing files are in CAL format and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using So urce View Reader. Both readers are contained in the solicitation package. Minimum system requirements are: 486- based personal computer, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 8 MB application RAM, 4 MB hard disk space, and compact disk drive.
