- Notice of availability of a prospectus on April 26, 2004, for solicitation of proposals for the seasonal operation of two types of food service delivery at Great Kills Park and Miller Field within the Staten Island Unit of Gateway National Recreation Area, New York. The primary food service operation is housed within a modern beach center facility of Great Kills Park. The secondary service is from mobile units serving Miller Field and other locations in Great Kills Park. Sundry sales are also authorized. The Beach Center operates from Memorial Day through Labor Day, seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A minimum of three (3) mobile units are required from April through November; a minimum of one mobile unit is required from December through March. The concessioner provides all necessary personnel, equipment, inventory, and supplies. The estimated cost of the new equipment package is $30,000. The minimum franchise fee to be paid to the National Park Service is three percent of the concessioner's annual gross receipts. The term of the contract will be ten years. The prospectus will explain the business opportunity, the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract, the proposal instructions and proposal package (including the selection factors). The solicitation, selection and award of the concession contract will be conducted pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51. The cost of purchasing a copy of the prospectus is $50.00.
