Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to issue a Firm Fixed-Price modification to contract N68936-04-C-0008 to expand the Fiber Optic capability of the North Range using other than full and open competition. Rocky Mountain Communication Specialties, 3411 N. Shore Drive, Loveland, CO 80537-9643 is currently installing fiber optic cable under this contract. The additional work will include installation of approximately 17 miles of single-mode fiber optic cable, manholes, splice cases and fiber optic patch panels at the China Lake Naval Air Warfare Center North Test Ranges. The additional fiber optic capability to be completed will be directly connected to and fusion spliced to the fiber optic cable that is currently being installed, spliced and terminated under contract by Rocky Mountain Communications Specialties, Inc. This work is a continuation of the capability currently under implementation at Parrot Peak, Etcheron Valley, and J-90. The government intends to issue a modification to Rocky Mountain Communications Specialties existing contract because the government anticipates a potential duplication of the cost, since installation and heavy equipment to bury the cable will have to be shipped in to the job site. At this time, Rocky Mountain Communications Specialties, Inc. has the necessary equipment located at the job site. Fiber Optic Cable installation and testing shall be completed no later than 30 June 2004. Interested parties shall identify their interest and capability and respond to this announcement by 16 April 2004. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. See Note 22.
