- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 01 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR FUEL DISPENSING TRUCK. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to add safety comments and information to pass DOT safety specifications. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. DOT 406 SPECIFICATION TRUCK HARDWARE 1) Truck needs to be equipped with the standard hazardous material placards - in accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) Hazardous Materials Regulations. 2) Fire Extinguisher - Properly Rated 3) Electrical Grounding Provisions ? Truck needs to be electrically grounded to prevent possible fires and explosions. 4) Diesel and Gas Nozzles need to be marked/color coded or sized - to preclude fueling with the wrong fuel. 5) Area Flood lighting for nighttime fueling operations? 6) Is a ladder required to get on top of the tank and fill the tanks? 7) Truck has backup warning alarm? PROCEDURES/TRAINING 8) Will the truck manufacturer provide actual or textbook training on the safe operation & maintenance of the truck? 9) Required Emergency Discharge Control Procedures provided by manufacturer & stored in the cab. CALIBRATION 10) Are the vent valves that are mentioned the same as pressure relief valves 11) What will their delivered pressure relief setting be 12) How will the pressure relief valves be tested? 13) How and when are the flow meters calibrated? Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on April 30, 2004.
