- Description
- The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Division of Applied Research and Technology (DART) has a requirement to provide support to convene a series of focus groups comprised of a diverse array of racial/ethnic groups. The contractor must be based in a geographic location (e.g. a major city that is racially/ethnically diverse and has significant Latino, Asian and European immigrant populations) where attainment of the racial/ethnic diversity required for this project is feasible. All groups shall be recruited and conducted by the contractor in or near this location. All focus groups should be conducted and focus group analyses completed within 6 months of the award of a purchase order. Evaluation and selection will be made based on lowest price and meeting the minimum qualifications as follows: It is essential that DART partner with a contractor for this project that has specialized experience in the conduct of focus group research with racial/ethnic minority and immigrant groups. (1) The contractor selected must have a Ph.D. in psychology or sociology, with specialized expertise in health and ethnicity. (2) The contractor must have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience using a community-based, participatory research approach to conducting focus group studies and other qualitative research with racial/ethnic minority groups. (3) The contractor must have at least 5 years previous experience partnering with Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in the conduct of qualitative/focus group research with racial/ethnic minorities. (4) The contractor must have at least 5 years of experience with performing content analyses on focus group data collected from both English-speaking and non-English speaking participants. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
