- Description
- The Louis Stokes Department of Veterans Affairs has a need for on-site Certified Coder Training Services located at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs, 10701 East Blvd., Cleveland, Ohio 44106 and at the Chillicothe Department of Veterans Affairs, 17273 State Route 104, Chillicothe, Ohio 45601. Offeror must provide two separate, one-week long, intensive, on-site training courses in CPT, HCPCS and diagnostic coding in the outpatient setting which includes coding for both physician and hospital services. Training shall be provided for approximately 20-25 students (at each session). Training shall include: (1) A solid foundation in coding principles; (2) Abstracting and coding from physician records; (3) Knowledge/skill in the proper use of coding manuals, (4) Knowledge and skills sufficient to prepare students to take the Certified Professional Coding ((CPC) exam. Offeror must provide all written material with the exception of ICD-9 and CPT books. All other lesson material will be included in the training. The VA staff will provide the coding books and code institutional charges, outpatient professional fees, radiology and laboratory. Training must be a combination of lectures, class discussions and coding exercises. The CPC exam must be offered as part of the training package and scheduled on-site within two months at the end of the training class. Offeror must schedule training during the last two weeks of the month for 5 days, 7 ? hours per day, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Offeror must provide an instructor who is accredited by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) as Certified Professional Coders.
