- CLARIFICATIONS TO QUESTIONS POSED IN RESPONSE TO THE SUBJECT ANNOUNCEMENT: (1).What type of information are you requesting that each interested vendor provide? We would like the names of institutions that we can contact regarding the functioning of the product. (2) Could you indicate how you would like the stamping of the instruments to look? What method you prefer? We would like the initial stamping to be done of 7000 items by you and then subsequent stamping would be done by us [the end users in the OR]. Provide costs involved in our doing the stamping subsequently and the cost of the equipment and the alternate cost of your stamping the instruments. (3) What are your requirements for numbering e.g. alpha numeric, alpha or just numerical? Also should the codes be human readable as well machine-readable? We do not need the items to be read by humans, as they should be able to be passed under a scanner if the instrument needs to be identified. The numbering system does not matter to us. (4) What types of information would you like stored about each piece e.g. location, times used, sterilization record. We would like to know the following on each piece. Location, date and time used, date of purchase, date and time sterilized, tray number to which it belongs. (5) Lastly do you require that software system be self-contained or do you have requirements for this system to be integrated to any other hospital information system? It should be a self-contained software package independent of hospital-wide systems.
