Description

Operational Contracting, US Air Force Academy intends to award a sole source purchase order utilizing simplified acquisition procedures to Data Presentation Graphics for Smart Technology Overlays and Projectors. This service is being acquired for the Institute for Information Technology Applications (IITA). This equipment will support an IITA research project. IITA seeks to test various architectures, using interactive touch display systems for optimum instructor-student pilot interface and learning environments. The different architectures will be evaluated by cadets using another IITA project involving the Human Computer Interface (HCI) laboratory, using commonly accepted HCI rubrics for evaluating usability. Smart is poised to prototype a system that will synchronize multiple video streams and display them in thumbnail or enlarged, using various display board features. IITA is seeking Smart overlay and display systems for this research to be compatible with the prototype software. Supplies and/or services are available from only one responsible source. No other type of supply or service will satisfy agency requirements. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to meet this requirement. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. If no response is received by 19 April 2004, 12:00PM Noon, MDT, to the effect that comparable supplies and/or services are available that would be more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these supplies and or services though a sole source procurement with Data Presentation Graphics a sole source award will be made.
