Description
The Albuquerque Area Indian Health Service (IHS) will be soliciting for general and specialty professional medical care services from interested physicians and other allied health care providers. Services will be provided on a requirements and referral basis to the IHS Contract Health Service elgible beneficiaries. Interested health care providers must be State Licensed, Board Certified or Board eligible within their specialty, provide documented proof of education, experience, and training, maintain medical malpractice liability coverage. The IHS has a list of requirements which include, but is not limited to the following specailty health care services; anesthesia, cardiology; pediatrics and adult, internal medicine, general and emergency surgery, orthopedics, podiatry, pedorthics, women's health care, child and adolescent psychiatric, general geriatric health care, general dental care, orthodontics, durable medical equipment services, osteoporosis, urology, dematology, optometry, etc. The IHS has a policy which states it will purchase health care services from professional medical care providers who agreet o accept payment in full at rates no higher than the allowable Medciare Rates, including deductibles and co-ayments. Multiple requirement contracts will be awarded for a base year and four, one-year options for renewal. All proposals received will be evaluated and will be considered for award from the period May 2004 through December 2004. Please refer to Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 04-02/VZ. An electronic RFP is not available for this acquisition. Due to the Southwest geographical location of the IHS facilities and the beneficiaries to be served, health care providers from New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Texas will be considered first. The RFP package will be availabe on or about April 23, 2004. Written request only.
