Description

The VAICHCS seeks to contract for Board Certified Neurosurgeons with experience in resident supervision. Surgeons must be credentialed and privileged through the VAICHCS before working at the medical center. 2. Neurosurgeons will perform surgery at the direction of the Chief, VA Surgical Service, who will direct workload, determine surgical and clinical scheduling, evaluate clinical performance, and ensure that patient needs are met by the contractor. 3. The contractor will provide appropriate staff to perform surgery two days a week and run two Neurosurgery clinics. 4. The contractor will provide Neurosurgical consultation for inpatients and outpatients and provide resident supervision in accordance with VA Manual M-2, Part 1, chapter 26. Demonstrated current expertise/national recognition in the following neurosurgery subspecialties is required: deep brain stimulation for Parkinson?s Disease; epilepsy surgery; surgical treatment of Complex Spine Disease; vascular neurosurgery, including intracranial aneurysms.
