Description
DESCRIPTION OF INTENT: THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY REQUESTING INFORMATION IN SUPPORT OF THE FOLLOWING POTENTIAL REQUIREMENT. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of the forthcomin g solicitation, nor is it a request seeking contractors to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. Response to this survey is voluntary and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this market surve y and any follow-on information requests. Data submitted in response to this market survey will not be returned. No solicitation document exists at this time, and calls requesting a solicitation will not be answered. POTENTIAL REQUIREMENT: The National Aut omotive Center is conducting a market survey to identify possible sources of high performance, deep discharge capable,low cost battery. The subject battery should be capable of completing at least 350 vehicular battery specification cycles (1000 cycles pre ferable), of developing minimum specific energy of 85 Wh per kg and 150 Wh per l volumetric energy, and of performance in all military environments, at a maximum production cost (actual or projected) of one-hundred-fifty dollars per kWh. The subject batt ery may already be in production, or as a minimum be in the advanced development stage. RESPONSE FORMAT(S): ELECTRONIC responses are preferred and strongly encouraged.
