Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a contract for the Mount St. Helens, Spirit Lake Outlet Tunnel, Intake Structure Slope Repair. The project is located at the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument (NVM), Skama nia County, Washington. The work requires slope preparation, high slope scaling, treatment of water seeps, and application of shotcrete. Repair of existing chain link slope protection, installation of rock bolts and dowels, and installation of wick drain s and weep holes are required. The site is remote and requires helicopter support. The NVM has stringent requirements for treatment and disposal of wastes and wastewater, which is required to be collected and disposed of off-site. The Contractor is requ ired to commence work within 5 days of Notice to Proceed and must have approval of required submittals prior to mobilization from the staging area to the job site. Work must be completed by 31 October 2004, including demobilization and final clean up. Th e estimated cost range for this procurement is $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns. All interested responsible firms are invited to request a copy of the subject Invitation for Bids (IFB), in CD Rom format, at no charge, by registering on our website at https://www.nwp.a rmy.mil. The IFB is anticipated to be issued on or about 17 May 2004 with a tentative bid opening date of 28 June 2004. In addition, in order to do business with the Department of Defense contractors must enroll on the Central Contracting Register (CCR) www.ccr.gov.
