Description

The National Institute on Aging, IRP, NIH intends to negotitate on a sole source basis with the Regents of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan for project entitled "Statistical Genetic Analyses of Data from the SardiNIA Porject". The purpose of this procurement is to provide expertise necessary to determine the degree to which variation of specific traits is "heritable", what fraction of variation is attributable to genes and what fraction to environmental (epidemiological) factors, and what genetic loci underlie the genetic component for each of a set of traits. Of primary concern to this study is determining the extent to which variations of quantitative risk factor traits in 6,000 members of the population of a cluster of towns in Sardinia can be accounted for by genetics loci and/or epidemiological factors.
