Description
The Air Armament Center (AAC), Direct Attack Program Office, submits this pre-solicitation notice in preparation for award of a Sole Source contract to McDonnell Douglas Corporation, A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company. The two objectives of this contract are to provide a ?pathfinder? to explore technology and/or process issues associated with implementing a weapon data link (WDL) on the Small Diameter Bomb (SDB), and to support a proposed WDL Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD), currently in the planning stages. In order to perform these efforts, a contractor must be very familiar with the SDB weapon system and modes of operation, and must have access to the SDB weapon system technical data package (TDP), including all of its sub-components, and the SDB 6-DOF model. This is necessary to understand the SDB performance characteristics and weapon system interfaces in order to determine if potential precision guidance technologies can be integrated with the SDB weapon system design. The Government does not own/possess a TDP for the SDB weapon system nor will the Government provide one to complete this effort. The contractor must be able to complete the effort not later than 31 Dec 2005. Interested firms who believe they have the capability to perform this effort should respond with details of their qualifications, experience, and how they will gain access to the SDB TDP (in accordance with Numbered Note 26). Firms responding to this synopsis should state whether or not they are a small business concern or small disadvantage business concern, as defined in FAR 52.219-2. In the event this notification results in a contract action, the acquisition will utilize North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code, 332993. For information concerning this synopsis, please contact Ms. Jeffrey Duval, Contracting Officer, (850) 882-3525, extension 2545, e-mail: jeffrey.duval@eglin.af.mil. For technical information, contact the Program Manager LtCol Greg Gutterman (850) 882-7321, e-mail: gregory.gutterman@eglin.af.mil or Project Lead Engineer, Mr. Eddie Gibbs, (850) 882-7321, extension 3356, e-mail: george.gibbs@eglin.af.mil. This synopsis does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. See numbered notes 22, 23 and 26.
