- Description
- This project will reconnect two legs of the Delaware Canal that were separated when the Route 1 overpass was constructed in Morrisville, Pennsylvania. The work consists of providing all labor, equipment, and material necessary to restore the missing section of the Canal by excavating around the existing highway embank ment and constructing a 21-foot wide trapezoidal channel, approximately 380 feet long and 7.5 feet deep. A Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) conduit, currently providing a hydraulic connection between the two existing sections, will be left in place. Work will also include dewatering, installation of an erosion control mat on each channel side slope, the construction of a 10-foot wide X 10-inch thick gravel tow path adjacent to the new Canal section, and fabrication of 42 wooden turtle basking platforms (to be installed by others). Solicitation Number W912BU-04-B-0019 will be available on the Internet Web page on or about 10 May 2004. The official media of distribution for the IFB is the Internet Web page and hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be acc epted. Contractors shall download the Solicitation (including any drawings) and any amendments from the Internet at the following address: https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil on or after the issue date of the Solicitation. It is the contractors responsibilit y to monitor the web page for any amendments. Interested contractors must register on the Internet Web page. If any of the contractors information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible for making changes to their user profi le on the Internet Web page. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause a delay in receiving notification of the Solicitation and any amendments. Contractors are responsible for printing copies of the Solicitation including any drawings and amendments. Bids will be opened on or about 09 June at 11:00 A.M. The NAICS Code is 237990 with a size standard of $28.5 million. Completion time is 120 calendar days. The es timated range of the project is $100,000.00 to $250,000.00 and bonding is required. All contractors must be registered in the DoDs Central Contract Register (CCR) database before award as required by DFARS 204.7300.
