Description
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) intends to enter into a sole-source contract with Innovative Imaging, Inc. for the procurement of three 16.8I 4KX4K Digital Camera System, three J50-Upgrade To 50? Cable Option, two 4.2i Digital Camera, two Nikor Lens, and five Pd2x-Ltd Frame Grabber Software. The Megaplus 16.8i was designed specifically for NGA?s requirements, and has been in place for approximately eight years. The Megaplus 16.8i has a best digital image resolution of 3 microns (which is the same as original film). This camera allows the operator to achieve almost instant corrections of obliquity. Market research has shown that the Megaplus 16.8i is the only 4K high-resolution digital camera with a monochromatic sensor that will meet the exacting imagery standards of the Digital Imagery Production Section. Award to any other source is anticipated to result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency?s requirements. It is essential that the replacement cameras be procured quickly to avoid interrupting mission critical activities. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Firms that recognize that they can perform the required services described above may identify their interest and capability. Firms are to identify themselves, include business name, point of contact, address & telephone number, and provide written supporting evidence to the Contracting Officer within five (5) calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responsible sources will be given full consideration. Only written responses will be considered. Responses should be submitted to Jonathan Mostowski, Contract Specialist, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), 4600 Sangamore Road, Bethesda, MD 20816, mostowsj@nga.mil or faxed to 301-227-1461. Responses to this notice must be received by close of business, E.S.T., 23 April 2004.
