- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation/Purchase Request number FA2835-04-P-0094 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). This document incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-21, Effective 30 Mar 04. This requirement is set-aside for small business only. The NAICS code for the purchase is 335312 With a size standard of 1000 employees.The Government intends to award one contract line item number (CLIN) for one (1) induction generator used for crystal growth research. The unit is intended to induction heat a graphite or molybdenum puck that has a semiconductor wafer on it to high temperatures. The puck will be located inside a quartz tube in which reactive gases are flowed. The main requirements for the rf heating system are: 1) 10kW rf power 2) remote heat station (this means that the main power unit is in one location but the heating coil can be located 10-20 ft away hooked to the main unit by cable. 3) variable frequency operation in the 25 kHz to 100 kHz range (50-200 kHz is also ok). The new unit will replace an existing ENI model EGR 9600B.FOB destination to Hanscom AFB MA shall be included. Quotations that do not include prices for all Requirements will not be considered.. The following provisions and clauses apply to this procurement: FAR 52.212-1 paragraph (b)(8) in addition complete DFARS provision 252.225-7000, Instructions to Offerors- Commercial. Evaluation/Award will be made to the responsible offeror whose offer is considered to represent the best value to the Government considering technical acceptability, past performance, and price. Technical and Past Performance, when combined are more important than price.
