Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Infectious Diseases, Epidemiology Branch, Division of Viral Hepatitis contemplates award of a contract to conduct a case-control study to evaluate risk factors for the transmission of HBV and HCV in persons who are 60 years old or over. Project objectives are a) to conduct public health surveillance for acute Hepatitis B and C in your local area, b) determine the incidence of, and risk factors associated with acute hepatitis B and C in persons who are 60 years old or over, c) conduct a case-control study of risk factors associated with acute hepatitis B and C in persons who are 60 years old or over, d) conduct a case-control study according to study protocol developed in collaboration with CDC, e) Obtain Human Subjects Clearances and provide informed consent statements f) address issues related to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HPPA), g) attend an annual meeting for project planning, orientation and review. To be eligible for award, the offeror must demonstrate the authority to access the names of all residents of the site reported to public health authorities with acute hepatitis B or acute hepatitis C and the ability to contact these persons to request their participation after necessary IRB approvals are obtained. Award of a Cost-Reimbursement contract in accordance with FAR Part 15 is contemplated. The anticipated period of performance is a follows: Base year: 10/1/04 ? 9/30/05 and Option Year 1: 10/1/05 ? 9/30/06. CDC will consider all responsible sources responding to this Request for Proposals (RFP). All questions/concerns about the RFP, subject line shall indicate RFP #2004-N-01188, and shall be submitted via e-mail to lqw5@cdc.gov. The tentative issue date is May 1, 2004, with a closing date of 45 calendar days thereafter. The complete solicitation package will be available and posted at this site when downloading when issued.
