Description
The National Park Service intends to issue a Request for Quotations for a Firm-Fixed Price contract to clean, repair and preserve the Grindstone Ford and Cowles Mead Cemeteries, located in Claiborne and Hinds counties, Mississippi, near the Natchez Trace Parkway. The contractor will be required to provide an evaluation of the type and extent of preservation actions that should be conducted at the cemeteries and then make repairs and clean the sites as specified in the project statement of work and in accordance with the accepted recommendations presented by the contractor. Work will include cleaning, repairing and resetting headstones and obelisks, cleaning and stabilizing a cast-iron fence, and removing overgrown vegetation. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, tools, materials, equipment, temporary facilities and controls, and incidentals required to complete the project. The estimated price range for this project is $25,000 - $100,000. The Grindstone Ford Cemetery is approximately 15' x 89' in size and contains at least 13 marked and identified graves. This cemetery was started circa 1800 and the last person was buried in 1854. Among those buried at Grindstone Ford is Daniel Burnet, who was the first Speaker of the Mississippi Territorial House of Representatives. The Cowles Mead Cemetery is approximately 10' x 20' in size and consists of two obelisks surrounded by an iron fence. This cemetery was begun in 1834 and the last person was buried in 1849. The cemetery has three burials including Cowles Mead, the third secretary of the Mississippi Territory and acting governor of the Mississippi Territory from 1806 to 1807. This RFQ, including attachments, will be available for download electronically at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about May 5, 2004. Electronic files will be published in HTML, Microsoft Word, and Adobe PDF formats. In order to download a copy of the solicitation, vendors will be asked to register their company with the electronic commerce website. Be prepared with your company's DUNS number, available at Dunn and Bradstreet at 888-546-0024, and your Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN). All vendors should pre-register to save time by logging onto the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) at the internet site http://www.ccr.gov. In accordance with FAR Part 19.10 this solicitation will be issued as unrestricted available for full and open competition with no small business set aside. The applicable NAICS code for this project is 238140 with a size standard of $12 million.
