- Description
- Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Impulse Enterprise for the office of National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, Pacific Environmental Laboratory (PMEL) located in Seattle, WA. The purpose of proposed contract is for purchase of following Impulse Enterprise brand connectors and cables: 1.) qty 150 each VMG-4FA(w/G-FLS-P) right angle connector, with sleeve, on one end of 130 inches Belden 8424 cable (connect braided shield to pin 1 along whit white wire); 2.) qty 150 each VMG-4-FS-RA (w/G-FLS-P) right angle connector with sleeve on one end of 188 inches Belden 8424 cable and VMG-4-FS (w/G-FLS-P) connector with sleeve on other end. This cable is to be slipped into Tygon and stainless steel tubing supplied by the PMEL prior to molding connectors on ends. Straight connector on cable end threaded through sidewall of Tygon tubing (connect braided shield to pin 1 along with white wire); 3.) qty 150 each VMA-FS molded neoprene inline female socket connector on 24 inches 1N2T cable; 4.) VMA-MP molded neoprene inline male plug connector on 24 inches 1N2T cable; 5.) qty 150 each A-FLS-P female locking sleeve; 6.) qty 150 each A-MLS-P male locking sleeve. These connectors and cables have been used in the TAO program since it?s inception and fill a critical role in the transmission of data underwater sensors placed at multiple depths under each moored buoys in the arrays across the Equatorial Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Ocean. Size and configuration of the connectors is critical, any changes in the design and assemblies would have a severe negative impact on interchangeability and reparability of existing and new systems.
