Description
It is the intent of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to procure on a sole source basis from Washington Group Sales, Falls Church, VA, to disassemble system furniture and move to staging location to be steam cleaned to remove dirt, marks, and stickers. Washington Group Sales provides labor to disassemble (140) Systems Furniture Workstations and move to location on 2nd Floor of Rockledge 1, Bethesda, MD, for staging agreed by NIH. Staging location as well as furniture must be clear and accessible prior to disassembly. Once furniture is staged all work surfaces, pedestals, and overheads will be wiped down and cleared to remove dirt, marks, stickers, etc. Panels will be steam cleaned on each side. Furniture will be reinstalled in the same location and layout as when it was disassembled. All work must be done during normal installation working hours and under normal working conditions. Changes to layout and work outside installation scope of work must be approved. Washington Group Sales is the vendor NIH bought furniture from originally, NIH has determined that they are the only company that currently has trained technicians who are familiar with disassembling and reassembling their own system furniture workstations. Since this needs to be done with a specific layout in mind as well as timeframe, it would be more efficient to use the technicians already familiar with the furniture. The proposed acquisition will be procured under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items. This is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available; however, all responsive sources may submit a capabilities statement in a timely manner which will be considered by NIH. Firms interested in responding to the notice must be able to provide the services as specified above. Responses must be in writing and must be received in the office within seven (7) calendar days from the publication date of this notice. Inquires regarding this procurement may be made to the National Library of Medicine, Office of Acquisitions Management, 8600 Rockville Pike, Building 38A, Room B1N20, Bethesda, Maryland 20894, Attention: Uyen H. Phuong, Lead Purchasing Agent, on (301) 496-6127. Fax requests WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
