Description
Sealed bids from all business concerns will be accepted for Georgetown University / Canal Road Entrance Project DE-0014(801), in Washington, DC, Solicitation Number DTFH71-04-B-00014. The project consists of the construction of an at-grade intersection with Canal Road and Georgetown University Southern Entrance, and an additional right-turn-only lane from Canal Road to the Whitehurst Freeway. The work includes removal of stone curb and portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement, roadway excavation, placement of temporary asphalt pavement, asphalt pavement milling, construction of asphalt pavement and PCC pavement, structural concrete for a retaining wall, installation of stone curb, a traffic control signal system, landscaping, utility conduits, luminaries and poles and other miscellaneous work on the entrance road. The project is expected to fall within the price range of $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Bid documents should be issued on or about April 23, 2004. Bids will be due on or about May 25, 2004. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) The Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. DOT's Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum line of credit is $500,000 with interest at the prime rate. PLEASE NOTE For security reasons, individuals requiring access to all government buildings must present a valid photo ID and be escorted to their destination by an employee. Due to new security provisions, all visitors attending bid openings are urged to arrive at least 1 hour prior to scheduled bid opening. All visitors must register with the receptionist in Room 180. An employee will collect the bids and escort visitors to a waiting room. Prior to bid opening, an employee will escort all bidders to the bid opening. Unescorted visitors will be denied entry and no exceptions will be made.
