Description
The U. S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals from prequalified contractors for the design and construction of underground storage tank removals at 29 sites and AST installations at 11 sites in southern California. Included are the design, permitting and installation of above-ground motor oil and/or waste oil storage tanks with necessary piping and monitoring system; and design, permitting, removal and proper disposal of underground fuel oil, diesel oil, motor oil and/or waste oil storage tanks, associated piping and appurtenances; proper onsite storage, characterization and disposal of excavated soil; backfill and paving. All of the facilities are occupied and operational. Work must be performed so as not to impair postal operations. Some facilities are postal owned; others are leased. Regardless of ownership, all work requires permitting by the regulatory agencies having jurisdiction in the area. The work is to be completed in 150 days after notice to proceed. Estimated range is $1,400,000-$1,650,000. The proposal must contain the offeror's overhead, profit, bonds, insurance, and all other contingencies. No allowance for such items will be made after contract award. The minority subcontracting goal for this contract will be 11%. Offers will not be publicly opened. Dr., Ste. 216, San Diego CA 92128-2088; Teng Construction, LLC, 205 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago IL 60601-5927; The Austin Co., 6410 Oak Canyon, Irvine CA 92618-5201. No additions will be made to the list of prequalified firms for this project. Subcontractors must contact the prequalified firms for copies of the solicitation.
