- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item. The United States Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has a requirement for approximately 41 packages of engineering design software modules (data collection, COGO, road calc, profiles, drafting, site design, surface modeling, data transfer) and 2 graphics engines, and 1 upgrade from Eagle Point 14. These modules will update AutoCivil survey compatible software. AutoCivil software is no longer updated or supported. The California NRCS Engineering Technology Committee has tested three engineering design and survey software packages. NRCS intends to issue a sole source award to Eagle Point Software for this requirement. The reason Eagle Point software was selected is that they will permit the software modules to be purchased individually; their software program works with AutoCAD versions 13, 14, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005 and the Eagle Point Graphics Engine, they have education/training program curriculum designed solely for NRCS, they offer custom programming for NRCS applications, e.g., grassed waterways and channels; and its software is the only software which can directly process AutoCivil survey points already downloaded on NRCS computers without additional steps.
