- Description
- NRCS Oregon has received additional Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) funding for salmon habitat restoration to maintain healthy watersheds and to ensure long-term salmon survival. Oregon is one of five states eligible to use these fiscal year 2004 funds. These new funds are to help landowners with projects that restore habitat for Pacific salmon. Projects may include providing shade along streams, restoring gravel spawning beds, removing barriers to fish passages and reducing agricultural runoff. Interested parties submitting salmon habitat-related proposals for funding under the previous RFP will be considered for funding with these additional funds. This solicitation is extended through Friday, May 28, 2004. All proposals submitted by that date will be considered. Contact Bill White Program Manager at 503 414-3085 for technical questions.
