Description
The VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York comprising of the Stratton V Medical Center, Albany, New York, VA Medical Centers at Bath, Syracuse and Canandaigua, NY; VA Western New York Healthcare System, Buffalo, NY is entering into negotiations with Electronic Data Corp, 13600 EDS Drive, Herndon, VA 20171. All interested parties are requested to give written notification including all pertinent data (descriptive literature, specifications, etc). Send information to Contracting Officer (90NCA), Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208. FAX: Number 5128-626-6849. The proposed contract action is for an automated method of creating an appeal of disputed healthcare claims. The automated solution shall compile regulations governing the healthcare insurance industry in all 50 states. The automated process should analyze claims data to ensure the appeal is in the proper format and contains the appropriate data elements and is delivered to the appropriate payers? appeal processing unit. The automated solution should track the appeals and monitor them for escalation to the next level if they are not responded to in a timely fashion. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR Part 6.302. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Proposals must be received NLT May 6, 2005. The determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct competitive procurement.
