- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with North Atlantic Instruments for the procurement of five (5) additional Programmable Resolver/Synchro Standards Model 5300-S3412A for the U.S. Navy. All units will serve to extend the life cycle of this currently supported calibration standard. The 5300-S3412A simulates dynamic servo characteristics like ship roll and radar antenna scan and are used to calibrate Synchro Panel Meters and Digital Angle Indicators utilized in the Consolidated automatic Support System (CASS). North Atlantic Instruments are the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the Programmable Resolver/Synchro Standards. Logistics support for the North Atlantic Instruments Model 5300-S3412A, are already established in the Navy Fleet. All associated logistics costs for establishing support for a new model number, must be borne by the manufacturer of the new model number and shall become part of the initial unit cost and subject to the competitive process as required. The Government intends to procure the above item under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1. The Government does not own current data, drawings, or other specifications to permit full and open competition. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit technical information in writing that may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
