- The Smithsonian Institution (SI) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) has requirements to provide sources of support over a broad range of network operations and management services. The Smithsonian Institution Network (SINET) is a hybrid network (Cisco, Novell, and Microsoft) of over 10,000 device nodes and many complex technologies. NAICS: 541512 with a size standard of $12,000,000.00. The Smithsonian Institution is seeking proposals from firms to provide the following five (5) services: 1) Network Operations and Management (including LAN/Server Administration, WAN management and Disaster Recovery Support), 2) Cabling Services (including data and voice), 3) Customer Support Services (including service calls for networked devices, HEAT software ticket management and support for COTS applications), 4) Network Security (including security policy formulation, network auditing functions and vulnerability analysis and correction), and 5) Database Design and Administration (including existing and newly forming networked systems). Offerors must be willing and capable to provide Information Technology Services in the Washington DC metropolitan area. The Smithsonian anticipates to award one (1) or more Open Quantity contracts for one (1) base year with nine (9) potential option years and with no guaranteed minimum for each of the five areas listed above. Assignments/task orders under these contracts may take the form of small projects or larger long-term service assignments. This is a small business set aside solicitation. The criteria for award will include the Offeror?s prior experience and past performance in related or similar environments; proposed staffing plan; proposed overall contract management and project technical management; and price. All awards will be made based on best value. The Smithsonian reserves the right to award without conducting discussions. Interested Small Businesses/Offerors who have at least three (3) years past experience in Information Technology may respond to this announcement. The Smithsonian is interested in Offerors having the capability to perform at least seventy-five percent (75%) of the work effort by its employees. Prospective Offerors may respond to any one (1) or all of the five (5) areas of the solicitation.
