- Description
- In accordance with the Revised Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-76, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is publicly announcing the start of three Streamlined Competition including the Division of Information Analysis and Technical Assistance-Financial, System and Budget Group; Training Staff-Survey and Certification Group; and Regions-Program Marketing. The Competitive Sourcing Official (CSO) is Leslie Norwalk. The Agency Tender Official is Brenda J. Sykes. The Contracting Officer is Bill Tate. The functions of The Division of Information Analysis and Technical Assistance-Financial, System and Budget Group includes acting as liaison between users and Government system operators and assist in the development and operation of the internal Federal Medicaid operational systems that support the Medicaid budget and grant process, Medicaid Drug Rebate Initiative, Federal Upper Limit Drug Pricing, Medicaid managed care information collection, and State Plan information and amendment tracking. The functions of the Training Staff-Survey and Certification Group includes planning, scheduling, and logistically supporting survey and certification classroom instruction for newly employed and experienced surveyors, supervisors and other staff. In addition it administers, manages, maintains, and updates the Classroom Learning System (CLS). The Functions of Regions-Program Marketing include engaging in activities that are designed to educate providers and local beneficiaries regarding enrollment, benefits, payment policies and other areas of the Medicare program including public awareness/outreach activities both in fee-for- service and managed care programs. These services are currently provided by seventy-two (72) Federal government employees. CMS will issue another notice to announce the decision of the cost comparisons on or about July 21, 2004.
