Description
The Government intends to award on a sole source basis to Virtual Media Integration LTD. for the purchase of a Soft/Flexible X-Ray Cassette System (SFXCS). This system will be used for the additional recording of the performance of experimental large caliber munitions, EFP warheads, weapons and their components. This will provide improved engineering support for the development of Shape Charge Liners, EFP's (Explosively Formed Penetrates) and various other Warhead Firing Configurations in the Davidson Advance Warhead Test Facility (DAWTF), building 660. This Soft Flexible X-Ray Cassette System will enhance our equipment and current capabilities and will provide for a state-of-the-art digital "early time" recording of EFP liner formation. The Davidson Advanced Warhead Development Facility is an integral part of the warhead development lifecycle; being able to provide this additional data information to the designers will help ARDEC maintain its position as the leader in warhead design, and prototype development. The system shall include 6 ea. Imaging soft flexible recording media, SCSI card with cable for Integration with existing NT 4.0 workstation and image reader / erasure system. This systems hardware and software capabilities will be integrated so that the image data will be completely compatible with Davidon Advance Warheads Test Facility existing VMI CR800 Digital X-ray System. This will allow for one software solution as well as one database seamlessly. The integration with existing hardware and software will also eliminate waste, save time and save money. NOTE 22 POC for this action is Cathy Kallistros ckallis@pica.army.mil. 973-724-5016.
