Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 01 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR FUEL DISPENSING TRUCK. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to supply questions and answers pertaining to the fuel dispensing truck. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Questions and Answers are as follows: Q. What is the total GVWR rating needed for the truck? With the axles and suspension requested we can have the GVWR of the chassis rated from 25,950 lbs to 29,000 lbs. Price does not change with these ratings. However, the ratings will affect who can drive the vehicle. A commercial driver's license (CDL) is required for any vehicle over 26,000 lbs. If you need to stay under the CDL limit it is necessary to specify the 25,950 GVWR. A. Stay with current specifications. Q. Tires. Current specifications call for 245/75R22.5 tires. We suggest changing to 255/70R22.5 16-ply tires or 265/75R22.5 14-ply. The current specification allows for tire weight capacity less than the axles or suspension rating. Changing to the suggested tires would increase the tire weight capacity to equal or greater than the axles and suspension. We believe that this is a safer configuration when looking at long term usage and tire wear. A. Stay with current specifications. Q. Do you want the emergency valves to be mechanical or air operated? A. Mechanical Q. Our tank supplier is not the manufactures the Cardinal. This is a specific name brand. Our tank comes with "jeep" style fenders. Will you consider this equal to the one specified? A. Yes, if there is no addition cost Q. Our tank has side doors at the rear and a main rear canopy door. How would you prefer your system to be configured, all equipment out the back or face hose reels out the side and the meters out rear canopy door. Or do you want both meters and reels to face out the rear canopy door? A. Both out the rear door Q. Do you want any rollers installed on the reels? A. What we have on the old truck is a hand crank. So, what ever is going to last the longest either rollers or spring will be fine. Q. Everything on this unit is carbon steel except for the meters which you are asking for that to be an M-5-A-2 which is aviation grade meter. Do you actually want an aviation grade or a refined fuel grade meter? A. refined fuel grade Q. In the SOW in the middle of the filter requirements it states manual drain & air eliminator. Do you want these components on the filter typically this is part of the meter? A. if its part of the meters, we don't need it on the filters Q. There is no mention of bottom loading is all filling of this unit to be accomplished by top filling ? A. yes Q. What is the desired flow rate you are looking for? The nozzles you specd are not rated for the same flow of 50 gpm that you specd for the filters. A. compatible with the flow for the filters Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on April 30, 2004.
