Description

The work consists of grading bank slopes, placing 3-ft. x 3-ft. x 6-ft. and 3-ft. x 1.5-ft. x 6-ft. gabion baskets, installing filter fabric and placing riprap. The gabion baskets, filter fabric, and rock shall be government-furnished materials. The purpose of the project is to protect an archaeological site. Quantities include: (1) excavate approximately 4654 cubic yards of materials for gabion placement; (2) backfill behind the gabions, grade slopes to 2:1; (3) assemble and install 510 cubic yards of government-furnished gabion baskets with government supplied 4- to 8-inch rock to form a retaining wall; (4) place 375 cubic yards of government furnished 7- to 18-inch riprap on the graded bank slopes; (5) furnish and install timber anchors for the retaining wall; and (6) install 2250 square yards of government furnished filter fabric. Competition is unrestricted in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Program (FAR 19.10). Estimated cost: $25,000 to $100,000. Estimated completion date: November 15, 2004.
