Description

The Department of Defense Dependents Schools Pacific requirement is to lease sixty-eight (68) school buses for use in Japan. Each bus shall be able to transport fifty-three (53) adult passengers on bench type seating. Sixty-two (62) buses shall be staged and operated on Okinawa, Japan. Six (6) buses shall be staged and operated in Sasebo, Japan. The contractor shall provide buses, full service maintenance (preventive and corrective), towing service, and all auxiliary equipment. The vehicles covered by this acquisition are intended for general administrative use by the U.S. Government for transporting American school age children (pre-kindergarten to high school) on military posts and the local economy throughout Japan. Also, must be capable of operation on expressways and highways for short to medium distance trips. The vehicles furnished hereunder shall be delivered by 30 September 2004 for immediate use. Buses and furnished accessories shall comply with all Japanese Motor vehicle safety standards in effect on the date of manufacture.
