Description: The Nashville District Corps of Engineers intends to issue a firm fixed price construction contract for civil works construction for Rehabilitation of a 250-ton bridge crane at the Wolf Creek Powerhouse (Russell County, Kentucky) and at the Center Hi ll Powerhouse (Dekalb County, Tennessee.) All work at Center Hill will be offered as an option. The Wolf Creek crane shall have its existing cab, wire rope, controls, lights, control wiring, power wiring, motors and brakes replaced. The Center Hill cran e shall have its cab modified, load brakes bypassed, drive system drive shafts repaired, and its wire rope, controls, lights, control wiring, power wiring, motors and brakes replaced. In addition the reducers, drums, drive systems and rails shall be inspe cted and serviced for both cranes. Acceptance and load test will be required on each crane. The solicitation will be issued on or about May 17, 2004. This solicitation will be located electronically at http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil on or about May 17, 2 004. The North American Industry Classification System (NAIC) Code for this procurement action is 333923. The magnitude of construction for these projects will be between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The awardee must be registered in the Central Con tractors Registration database. Information regarding the Central Contractors Registration can be located electronically at http://www.ccr.gov. The Government intends to award this contract without discussions.
