Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items or services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) No. 000791. The solicitation clauses and provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-27. The Standard Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 722320. The FDA intends to issue a purchase order on a sole source basis to Centerplate/National Business Services Enterprises, Inc., c/o Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place, NW, Washington, DC, for catering services for the 2004 FDA Science Forum and Scientific Achievement Awards Program. The Food and Drug Administration intends to issue a purchase order on a sole source basis to Centerplate/NBSE for catering services for approximately 1700 attendees to include but not necessarily limited to FDA Science CT Breakfast, Exhibit Hall Linen/Table Setup, FDA Science Forum, FDA Science Forum Box lunch, FDA Science PM break, and Commissioner?s Luncheon for the 10th Annual FDA Science Forum and Scientific Achievement Awards Ceremony on May 18-19, 2004. The ceremony is being held in the Washington Convention Center and it is a rigid requirement of the contract that all banquet orders be placed through Centerplate/NBSE. No other catering firm is allowed. The following FAR clauses shall apply to this solicitation: 52.212 Instruction to Offerors-Commercial ; 52.214-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items; and 52.232-33 Electronic Funds Transfers. All responsible sources that can provide and meet the requirements shall submit written quotations by the due date referenced above.
