- Description
- The NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to solicit information about potential sources to design, construct, and certify a modular Class 10,000 laminar flow cleanroom within an existing Class 100,000 facility. The facility is located in Titusville, Florida and is used for processing NASA satellites. The cleanroom must be reconfigurable to accommodate a number of length, width, and height configurations. The design, construction, and certification of the facility shall be complete by September 2005. The facility must meet the specifications as described in the specification document attached to this RFI. It is emphasized that this RFI is for planning and information purposes only and is NOT to be construed as a commitment by the Government to enter into a contractual agreement, nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Upon review of the information provided to NASA, it may be determined that is in the best interest of the Government to issue a "Request for Proposal", which could lead to a contract award. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Interested offerors having the necessary specialized capabilities that will comply with the requirements outlined in specification document and have the capability to meet the delivery schedule should submit a brief capability statement. This capability statement should indicate the ability to perform all aspects of the effort described herein. Interested offerors shall provide a schedule with critical milestones to meet the delivery schedule, identify any major cost, performance, and/or schedule drivers, and also a rough order of magnitude and basis of estimate for any costs deemed necessary. It should also be stated as to whether or not a fixed-price contract would be acceptable. Additionally, your responses must include the following: name and address of firm, size of business; whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned, affiliate information: parent company, joint venture partners, potential teaming partners, prime contractor (if potential sub) or subcontractors (if potential prime), and a summary of past relevant experience in cleanroom installation. Technical questions should be directed to: Sharon Straka at (301) 286-9736 or sstraka@mscmail.gsfc.nasa.gov. Procurement related questions should be directed to: Julie Janus at (301) 286-4931 or julie.a.janus@nasa.gov. Interested offerors shall address the requirements of this RFI in written format as described in the previous paragraphs by mail or electronic mail to: Sharon Straka, Code 545, NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD 20771, or sstraka@mscmail.gsfc.nasa.gov, no later than 5:00 PM EST on Wednesday, May 12, 2004. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
