Description
The USAF will issue an RFP for the repair of the Augmentor Convergent Nozzle Segment Assembly. The Contractor shall furnish all required labor, parts, facilities and test equipment and material to accomplish repair. The solicitation will be issued electronically through the FEDBIZOPS website. The requirement is for Input/Output NSN: 2840-01-308-4466NZ; P/N: 4070741, Predominant material: Titanium Alloy; Size/Dimensions: 21 inches long X 6 inches wide X 2 inches in height. The convergent segment is a cast part requiring precision machining to meet specific dimensions for the F100PW229. Delivery: Tinker AFB, OK or as specified in individual order. Anticipated solicitation issue date: 8 March 2004. The approximate proposal response date is 9 Apr 2004. A firm-fixed price, Requirements contract with a one-year basic and 4 one-year option ordering periods will be issued. Estimated quantities: Basic Year: 602 each, Option 1: 1,356 each, Option 2: 1,449 each, Option 3: 894 each, Option 4: 936 each. The government’s required schedule is as follows: Delivery shall begin 30 days after receipt of order and reparables, whichever is later at the rate of 120 each per month and continue at that rate per month thereafter until deliveries are completed. Notwithstanding the frequency of orders the contactor shall not be required to deliver more than 120 each month. The repair consists of returning to the government in a completely serviceable condition in accordance with the provisions listed Work Specifications identified in Appendix “A”, Appendix “B” and Appendix “C” of the contract. Qualification Requirements exists: Sources must be qualified prior to being considered for award in accordance with FAR 52.209-1. Currently the following sources are approved AAR Engine Component Services, Frankfort, NY. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement make contact with firm(s) listed. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential Offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
