- Description
- 1. This is a Notice of Intent for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice is issued under Request for Quotation (RFQ) 0034531, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The NAICS is 339111. The provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-22. This notice will result in an aggregate award for a Firm-Fixed Price, one-time buy. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Rigaku MSC, Incorporated, 9009 New Trails Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77381 USA. The requirement is as follows: (1) Part Number LN2-40, NitroGen-40 is a self-contained LN2 generation system with an internal dewar requiring only electricity and water to operate. The NitroGen can supply multiple devices as long as the combined requirement does not exceed the total capacity: LN2 output: 40 liters per day, Custom dewar capacity: 150 liters. This self-contained NitroGen unit includes: Cryo-engine (Gm cycle He compressor and cold head), Internal 150 liter storage dewar, LN2 hose connection-one half inch flair LN2 male outlet, Internal liquid level control (differential pressure gauge) and Requires 25 PSI nitrogen gas source, Quantity 1; (2) Part Number LN2-Hose-05 Vacuum jacketed cryogenic 5 foot delivery hose, Quantity 1; (3) Part Number LN2-40 Sealkit LN2 Stem and spring cold head seals for Helium compressor, LN2-40 Stemseal and LN2-40 Springseal, Quantity 1; (4) Part Number LN2-CHARCO950/70 Replacement helium charcoal filter for helium compressor, Quantity 1; (5) Part Number LN2-175WW, Water to water re-circulating system, Quantity 1; (6) Part Number LN2-DWCLPB50, 18 inches x 36 inches 304 Stainless Steel transport dewar on casters. Includes 5 foot transfer line, Quantity 1 and (7) Installation. These items are being purchased because the Chemistry Unit requires liquid nitrogen for the operation of a wide variety of instrumentation. Also, not only is the liquid nitrogen required for performance, but to prevent damage to the various systems. The Government intends to negotiate with only one source. Therefore, this notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government will consider all quotes received by 4:00 p.m., EDT, on April 22, 2004. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
